Adding sand to the compound feed can increase the weight of broilers. The reason is that feeding chickens with such feed can increase the sand reserve in the chicken stomach and improve the feed utilization rate. According to the experiment, adding 8% sand to the broiler formula feed can increase the weight of 325 grams per chicken. The experiment also showed that adding 7% sand to the broiler formula feed could significantly increase the weight of broilers. If adding 9% sand, the chicken would not gain weight, but would lose weight. Therefore, adding 8% sand to broiler formula feed is the best proportion of broiler weight gain.
